Dr. Krista Cioffi was born and raised in Cupertino, California. As part of a family of animal lovers (and the first girl to be born into her family in 50 years!), it was not difficult to pursue her passion of caring for animals. After high school in Palo Alto, California, Dr. Cioffi headed to college at The University of California, San Diego where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience. In 2010, she attended Tufts’ Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Masters in Public Health degrees.
After veterinary school, Dr. Cioffi completed her Small Animal Rotating internship at the University of Georgia followed by a Small Animal Surgical Residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon completion of her residency Dr. Cioffi moved back to the west coast to be closer to family. Dr. Cioffi has been a boarded member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Small Animal since 2015.
As our newest member to the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland team, Dr. Cioffi looks forward to bringing her passion for advanced small animal surgery to the community. She greatly enjoys orthopedic, neurologic, minimally invasive, and soft tissue reconstructive surgeries.
In her spare time, Krista is an avid cyclist and runner, enjoys the scenic hikes in the area, and likes to relax with her very social dogs Huckleberry and Finn and her cat, Charlie.
