Amelia M. Simpson

Dr. Simpson graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She completed a small animal internship at Kansas State University, a surgical internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Surgery in Houston, and a surgical residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. After working in a specialty referral practice in Virginia, she joined the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Teaching Hospital as a clinical instructor and surgeon. She became board certified by the American College of Veterinary surgery in 2004. Dr. Simpson moved to Portland and joined the Veterinary Surgical Center in 2007. She purchased the practice from Drs. Tim and Christine Munjar in 2013. Dr. Simpson’s primary interests are with soft tissue surgery including thoracic and abdominal surgery, oncological surgery, tracheal and upper airway surgery, portosystemic shunt correction, head and neck surgery, and reconstructive surgery (skin flaps and grafts.) She also enjoys general orthopedics, complex fracture repair and TPLO surgery. Dr. Simpson is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, mountain biking, camping and trail running. She is an avid traveler when she can get away. She lives downtown with Luci the adorable Labradoodle, Olive the Chihuahua adopted from Pixie, and Oakley her sweet orange kitty. asimpson@vscpdx.com
